Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, with school stops at Mizzou (BA in Psychology), Chicago (Master of Divinity) and Los Angeles (Doctorate in Youth, Family and Culture). He’s served churches for nine years in Chicago, Farmington and St. Louis, before being appointed to Good Shepherd in the summer of 2011. Ordained in 2008, Mark loves watching lives transform as they find the joy of following Christ and give their life away to Him.

Bryan grew up in the Northland of Kansas City. His father was drawn to the area through his work with TWA (Trans World Airlines). After attending high school at Park Hill, Bryan graduated from Friends University with a BA in Organizational Management & Leadership and is currently working toward his Master of Divinity at St. Paul School of Theology.
Favorite things to do
When he’s not at church or school (his two favorite places), you can find Bryan taking a run through the streets of the Northland or curled up & reading in a coffee shop. He’s been married to the love of his life, Tara, for 20 years, and they have two beautiful children, Brody & Olivia. Their family dinners and frequent dance parties are some of the most enjoyable times of Bryan’s week.
Bryan is honored to be serving Good Shepherd in a pastoral role and enjoys every moment with its amazing staff who play together, work together and seek God together.
Kayla and her husband, Brian, are both natives to rural Iowa but have made Kansas City their home since 2000 and joined Good Shepherd UMC in 2001. They have four children: Ben, Luke, Carlie and Nathan. A few family favorite activities are going on a bike ride (cool new trails coming to Gladstone!) and playing Bunco, Apples to Apples junior or baseball/kickball in the neighborhood.
A few of Kayla’s favorite things are peanut butter & banana toast, being outside, traveling, and being in ministry with YOU!
