The schedule will include art, music, movement, play, milestone development, and nap time. Teachers accomodate individualized schedules based on your child’s needs. Student-teacher ratio in this class is 4:1 with a maximum of 8 children.

1 Year Olds
*Must turn 1 by August 1
This class focuses on socialization & interaction. Children will become familiar with a daily schedule that includes art, music, milestone development, nap time, movement, and play. Student-teacher ratio in this class is 4:1 with a maximum of 8 children.

2 Year Olds
*Must turn 2 by August 1
This class is the first step in your child’s preschool experience and will prepare them for a more structured environment next year. Activities are developmentally appropriate and include art, music and learning centers. Student-teacher ratio in this class is 6:1 with a maximum of 12 children.

3 Year Olds
*Must turn 3 by August 1 & potty trained
The focus of this class is socialization and preparing children academically. We will introduce letters, numbers and work on fine motor skills to promote reading & writing. Lead teachers have a degree in early childhood education or elementary education. Student-teacher ratio in this class is 8:1 with a maximum of 16 children.
Children participate in a monthly chapel along with our 4 & 5 year olds that focuses on a different attribute each month. They also invite Dad’s to a “Teddy Bear Picnic” and Mom’s to a “Mother’s Day Tea.”

This class is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. Academics include reading, writing, creative art, music classes and field trips. We utilize the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum for handwriting. Lead teachers have a degree in early childhood education or elementary education. Student-teacher ratio in this class is 8:1 with a maximum of 16 children.
Children participate in a monthly chapel along with our 3 year olds that focuses on a different attribute each month. They also take field trips throughout the year and go to the fire station, pumpkin patch, assisted living home to sing, and the Red Barn Farm. They participate in many activities as well such as Community Helper Day, Polar Express day, Zoomobile, and much more.

Kindergarten Prep Enrichment
*Builds upon k-prep class
This class will provide enrichment activities for K-Prep students who stay all day. This will include art, spanish, religion, and science. Students also have the opportunity to work on things they may need extra help with to prepare for kindergarten. They will also eat lunch (brought from home), have outside play & socialization time as well as centers. Student-teacher ratio in this class is 8:1 with a maximum of 16 children.

What ages do you accept?
We accept newborn through 5 years of age (aka K-prep).
Is your program year round?
Yes, we follow North Kansas City School District (other than the start date) and offer summer camp in the summer. We are closed one week in May, one week in the summer and one week in August for building maintenance and the preparation of the new school year.
What are your student/teacher ratios?
For infants through 1 year of age, 1:4 ratio. For 2 years of age, 1:6 ratio. For 3 & 4 years of age, 1:8 ratio.
When does enrollment begin?
Open Enrollment for current families starts February 1st and for the general public begins March 1st.
My child has a peanut allergy; can you accomodate that?
Absolutely. We are a peanut & tree nut-free facility.
What security features does your buliding have?
All doors are locked at all times. Families are given an individual access code to enter the building. In addition, all students need to be signed in and out each day at their classroom. Identification is checked on all people authorized to pick up until we get to know you.
What is the educational background of the staff?
All teachers in our 3-year-old and K Prep classes have a degree in either early childhood education or elementary education. All staff have a background working with children.
Do staff have any additional training?
All staff are CPR certified and have had Safe Sanctuary training. In addition, most staff have attended active shooter training with the KCPD.
What is your discipline policy?
Our philosophy is positive redirection. We assist the children in making positive decisions. Our staff strives towards fostering responsibility, caring and creativity in the children we teach.
Are there opportunities for active play to develop gross & fine motor skills?
Yes, we have two separate fenced-in playgrounds that give children the opportunity for physical activity to enhance their gross motor skills, promoting health and well-being. Classrooms utilize table time to provide students with exposure to fine motor activities. This may include cutting, pre-writing activities & lacing activities.
Will my child nap during the day?
Children ages infant – 3 year olds have a nap or rest time. Nap times vary by age from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Nap schedules in our infant room are flexible.
