Worship Update

A team of people has been discussing what reopening the church will look like. Below is the plan they devised, which has been approved by our governing board. Click HERE to listen to Pastor Mark explain it. We are thrilled to be able to provide quality opportunities for you to connect to God and others through online worship during this time and ask for your prayers for our church leadership.

Dr. Bill Gilbirds, Vice President of Medical Affairs, St. Luke's Hospital; Chief Medical Officer, St. Luke's Care and member of our congregation, shared an update with us during service on Sept. 6. You can watch this update HERE.

Dr. Gilbird shared two resources from which he draws current data. View the Show-Me Strong Recovery Plan HERE and the Mid-America Regional Council's data HERE.

Ways to Stay Connected

Online Worship
We are planning for energizing and compelling worship each Sunday morning. The service will be pre-recorded, then uploaded to our website HERE at 9 am and live-streamed on our Facebook pages at 9 and 10:30 am. The service will then be available any time after that to replay. Each week, we will have representatives from all three of our campuses. We’ll offer things for the whole family and even give you the chance to take communion in your home. Tune in 10 minutes early for extra pre-worship content.

This may be a good time for you to invite your loved ones without a home church - or those whose home churches lack the technology to live stream - to join you in a virtual watch party. Feel free to share our video with your friends and family.

Join a sermon-based small group
The goal of a sermon-based small group is Christian discipleship, where people can worship, serve, and belong together. When you become a part of a group, you find others who share the same goal: looking to grow in their faith. Small groups are now forming and will begin after Labor Day. You can see available groups and sign up HERE or on the Good Shepherd KC app. Contact Bryan Rezen with questions: [email protected].

Campus pastors will be sharing mid-week messages:
  • Kayla will be sharing an object lesson at noon on WEDNESDAYS on the Gladstone Facebook page.
  • Staff will share spiritual disciplines on THURSDAYS across all three Facebook pages.
  • Our music ministry will also be sharing one or two worship songs across all three pages at 7 pm on FRIDAYS.

In addition, there are times to connect directly with our pastors over Zoom.
  • Thursday 3:30 pm coffee chat with Kayla HERE

We know there are needs in our community. We want to know how we can help meet those needs and we want to be in prayer for you. Submit prayer requests and needs HERE.  Now, more than ever, we need to be the church for each other and our community.

It is true that for some, these are times of anxiety and uncertainty. Know that we are praying for you, with you and alongside you. Our God is bigger than our circumstances and our faith is our anchor of peace. The best is yet to come!

gsKids will share a virtual lesson at the end of each week's live stream. You can watch it our gsKids Facebook pages any time throughout the week. We have accompanying coloring sheets, family lessons and more available for you to download HERE. We are also sharing content several times per week on our Facebook pages.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you need prayer or have any other needs during this time.  Contact Mandi Ballinger: [email protected].

Club 5/6

Every Saturday from 10 – 11 am, all 5th and 6th graders are invited to Zoom with us! We will be playing games, reading scripture and talking about the sermon in small groups. This is a wonderful chance to continue to dig deep with Club 5/6 and grow in your faith!

The Zoom code is: 955-831-875. No password is required!

gsYouth is held on Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8 pm. Programming is held online via Zoom unless otherwise noted. This is our large group time. We will spend time worshipping together, listening to a message and in discussion. This Fall, students will be placed into small groups for their discussion times on Zoom.
