In order to get Jesus executed, a small number of Pharisees made a plan in secret to convince others to take the lead and make the decisions these Pharisees did not want to take responsibility for. To accomplish this, they whipped up mob mentality so that individuals stopped thinking for themselves. As we look back on this, we think "how could anyone have done this to Jesus?" And yet, we are sometimes guilty ourselves of mob mentality over 2000 years later!
