Reaching Out to Kansas City

In 2016, Good Shepherd launched A Turning Point (ATP), a local non-profit dedicated to supporting families by providing basic needs and education, equipping them for self-sufficiency. ATP has grown to serve 70,000 people annually and, in 2019, was recognized as the Best Charitable Organization in the Northland.

A Turning Point: An Introduction

A Turning Point: David's Story

A Turning Point, in partnership with Good Shepherd, serves as a vital resource for our community. From providing meals, shelter, education, and essential resources to creating opportunities, ATP meets immediate needs with dignity and hope. This Christmas Eve, our offering will directly support ATP’s mission, helping us make an even greater impact in the lives of our houseless neighbors.
David’s journey is a powerful testament to the life-changing impact of A Turning Point (ATP). Once struggling with food insecurity and homelessness, David found hope and support through ATP’s programs. Now, David is on a mission to give back, aspiring to one day volunteer and help others like he was helped.

Cold Weather Shelter: Offering Warmth and Hope This Winter

As the temperatures drop, we’re here to ensure that no one has to face the harsh winter elements alone. Our Cold Weather Shelter provides a safe, warm place for individuals and families in need, offering shelter, hot meals, and a caring environment during the coldest months of the year.

Your support helps us keep the doors open and make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors. If you’d like to volunteer, donate, or learn more about how you can get involved, please email Cathy McIntire ([email protected]) for more details. Together, we can provide comfort and hope to those who need it most this winter.
