Rooted is a new ministry walking alongside families as they move from unsheltered living into a place of their own.
This spring, Good Shepherd set out to provide 50 beds for children in the Northland through Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
You gave beyond the goal.
80 beds. 80 children with a safe place to sleep.
That alone is worth celebrating. But your generosity didn't stop there.
Because the Easter Offering surpassed its goal,
we are now able to launch something new —
a ministry built to walk alongside families
as they take one of the biggest steps of their lives.
WHAT WE LEARNED
Imagine finally getting the keys to a place of your own
after a long season of instability.
There's relief. There's joy. There's hope.
Then you open the door and realize how much is still missing.
No dishes. No towels. No basic supplies.
No extra hands to help you move in.
No one waiting to say:
"We're so glad you're here. You're not doing this alone."
More people in our community are being connected to housing
than ever before. But the support needed to help them settle, stabilize, and begin again is more than our partners can carry alone.
So Good Shepherd is stepping in.
The long game. Help create ongoing connection — game nights, outings, events that surround newly housed families with
relationships that last beyond the first week. This is where roots actually grow.
Collect, assemble, and deliver basic household essentials to families moving into a new home.
Dishes. Towels. Supplies. The things that turn a unit into a home. Behind the scenes work with real, tangible impact.
Show up on move-in day. Help unload. Celebrate. Hand over a Welcome Pack. Be the people who make a family feel like their new beginning is worth celebrating.
May 26th from 7-8PM at our North Oak Campus. A night to hear the vision, see how it works, and discover where you might fit in.
