Most of us are trying to live today while carrying yesterday and worrying about tomorrow. This Father's Day, we're looking at the two lines in the Lord's Prayer that speak directly to both. We'd love to see you this Sunday at Good Shepherd!
Today is Juneteenth. A day to honor the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom and the generations who have continued that work. Today is an opportunity not just to look back, but to look around and decide how we move forward. Because if freedom isn’t true for everyone the work isn’t finished. Love, justice, and equality still have work to do. And so do we.
June 21: Father’s Day is this Sunday and we want to celebrate with the MVPs in our lives who love well, show up quietly and carry more than anyone usually sees. Bring your people. We hope to see you there!
June 22–25: The wait is almost over! VBS is almost here. Snowball Mountain Challenge kicks off this coming Monday, June 22, and registration is still open. Four nights of high-energy worship, epic games, creative crafts, and Bible stories from 6 to 8PM at both campuses. You won’t want your kids to miss this one!
Happening Now: If you have a little one at home and summer is already feeling long, Little Lambs Summer Camp still has spots available for kids six weeks through seven years old. Weekly themes, water days, and before and after care available.
July 12: Our Gladstone Church Picnic is July 12 right after service at our Gladstone Campus. Bring a chair, bring a side dish to share, and come enjoy some outdoor games and fellowship. We would love to see you there!
July 14: Digging Deeper: What is Methodism and Why Should I Care is Tuesday, July 14 at 6:30pm at our North Oak Campus. In one evening we’ll explore what we believe, why it matters and why the message of the United Methodist Church is more relevant today than ever.
July 19: If you have been curious about Good Shepherd but are not sure where to start, Next Steps Xpress is for you. It is a relaxed opportunity where you can meet others, ask questions and figure out what your next step looks like. Lunch and Childcare are provided.
Last Sunday we kicked off something new. The Lord’s Prayer: Ancient Words. Modern Wisdom. For many of us those words are familiar.
