Christmas at Good Shepherd

Simple Christmas Podcast

As a way to enhance your Advent season, we are putting out a series of fun and in-depth conversations surrounding the idea of stripping away the excess of the season, to create margin for the things that matter most to us. Many of us might come away from the holiday season feeling conflicted. A new episode will drop every Thursday following the Sunday sermon

Christmas Eve Generosity

Each Christmas Eve, all the campuses of Good Shepherd combine their offering to support our two mission partnerships. We give half of the money away to our local community partner, A Turning Point, which serves as the local serving arm of the church. In 2021, A Turning Point continued to graduate more students through its Academy and expanded the program by offering it in the Platte County detention center. The other half of our Christmas Eve offering, we give to our long-standing partnership with our international friends in Guatemala. Basic life necessities like a primitive stove to cook on, or latrine to use were provided this year, but the bulk of our attention went to feeding families that became alarmingly food insecure this year. Partnerships have been able to transform lives because of your generosity in the past.
Last year, we were able to share more than $23,000 in Christmas offerings between these two ministries, which led to story after story of transformed lives. We simply ask for you to consider what God may be leading you to give. As you prepare for the birth of Jesus, we wish you a very merry Christmas.
