Good Shepherd, what an incredible season we’ve had together!
Last week, we concluded our Ignite sermon series, and I couldn’t be more grateful for how our church responded. At its core, Ignite was about embracing a new vision we believe God has placed before us with action and commitment. I have been overwhelmed by your response and support.
We are still calculating all the numbers but one of the most powerful things I’ve seen are all the new steps so many of you have taken. Many of you have committed to giving for the first time. Others of you increased your generosity. Still others of you have stretched into extravagant giving. Your willingness to give is a sign of the work God is doing among us, and I believe it will have a lasting impact in our community. Thank you for saying “yes” to being a fountain and being a part of something bigger than yourselves!
In case you missed it, there is still time to complete a commitment card. Follow this link. And if you have any trouble setting up your giving, please reach out. We are here to help.
Another highlight of the Ignite series was our Town Hall. It was amazing to see how engaged and passionate you are about our church’s future. You asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas and-most importantly-expressed a deep desire to do more. One of the strongest themes that came out of our discussion was a shared longing to serve.
That’s why I’m thrilled to share that we are hosting a Serve Expo after worship on March 16 and 23 at both campuses. This will be a great chance to explore and learn about the different ministries at Good Shepherd. Whether you have a heart for kids and youth or you want to be more behind the scenes with production or administration, there is a place for you to use your gifts. If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved, this is your moment!
I hope you celebrate with me how God is moving at Good Shepherd. We’ve seen it in the steps of faith, the commitments made and your eagerness to serve. I can’t wait to see how God continues to lead us in this next season of being a vibrant Christian movement at the heart of our community igniting hope and meaningful change for new generations.
See you Sunday!
