Director of Worship at brewCHURCH – part-time, paid staff

Principle Function and Primary Responsibilities
The Director of Worship is a spiritual, organizational, and creative leader who oversees all aspects of worship at brewCHURCH to create an experience that brings people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and with each other. A faithful leader not only helps people experience God’s presence and express themselves toward God, but also forms relationships with people outside of the moments of structured worship.
  • Lead worship music and congregational singing with quality and consistency and in a participatory way that draws the congregation closer to God.
  • Select and prepare music for weekly worship, and any other additional worship services occurring at the site, in consultation with the brewCHURCH Pastor.
  • Create worship schedule using Planning Center and recruit vocalists and instrumentalists for each worship service.
  • Prepare and equip a band and singers for worship by leading weekly rehearsal and any additional activities, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the brewCHURCH Pastor to creatively come up with new ways of facilitating an encounter with God, through innovative uses of space, lighting, decoration, interior design, volunteer giftings, and language.
  • Coordinate with sound and lighting technicians from the Rino.
  • Recruit volunteers and provide support for the operation of all media equipment: video (live stream and archive), projectors, media computer, presentation remote, Blu-Ray player, video switcher and audio system.
  • Ensure that Good Shepherd adheres with licensing requirements for music.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor, or Lead Pastor.

  • Strong ability to effectively lead worship vocally and instrumentally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to write and arrange music.
  • A desire to creatively shape a unique worship space.

Hours and Lines of Communication
  • Part-time, paid staff, 10 hours per week
  • $200 weekly, or about $10,000 yearly
  • Reports to BrewCHURCH Pastor
