Our Story

Good Shepherd Church was planted in 1990 in the northern suburbs of Kansas City, MO, by a small group of people who believed that the church should be a welcoming community for everyone. Their vision was to create a space that makes a practical difference in our city and supports people in their everyday lives. What began as a small movement has continued to grow and evolve, shaping who we are today.

Our Locations

We are one church with two locations in the Northland of Kansas City:

•North Oak Campus: Located at the corner of North Oak Trafficway and 96th Street.

•Gladstone Campus: Situated on 64th Street, just east of Prospect.

Both locations also host Little Lambs, a preschool that serves around 260 children each year, helping us connect with families in our community.

What We Believe

At Good Shepherd, we believe that God meets each of us where we are and invites us into a meaningful relationship with God and others. Our faith is rooted in the belief that following Jesus is not only compelling but also applicable to everyday life.

Everyone is Welcome

We are a diverse community, united by a shared journey of following Jesus. We believe this path leads to healing, wholeness, and freedom. As Jesus modeled, we strive to meet everyone where they are and invite them to belong in our community of faith.

A Place to Belong

We believe in the importance of building meaningful relationships—with both people and God. Whatever your past or present circumstances, there is a place for you at Good Shepherd. Everyone belongs, and everyone has a space in our community.

Reaching Out to Kansas City

In 2016, Good Shepherd launched A Turning Point (ATP), a local non-profit dedicated to supporting families by providing basic needs and education, equipping them for self-sufficiency. ATP has grown to serve 70,000 people annually and, in 2019, was recognized as the Best Charitable Organization in the Northland.
