Good Shepherd was planted in 1990 in the northern suburbs of Kansas City, MO when a small group of people had the belief that church needs to be a community that is welcoming to everyone, can make a practical difference in our city and can be helpful in our everyday life. This belief sparked a movement that continues to grow and evolve into what we are today.

We are one church with two locations. Our North Oak location is at the corner of North Oak Trafficway and 96th Street. Our Gladstone campus is on 64th Street just east of Prospect. Both locations host Little Lambs, a preschool which serves around 260 children each year.

In 2016 Good Shepherd started A Turning Point (ATP), a local non-profit that focuses on supporting families by providing basic needs and education equipping them for self-sufficiency. ATP has grown to serve 70,000 people annually and in 2019 was voted “Best Charitable Organization” in the Northland.

We believe God meets every one of us where we are and invites us to belong in relationship with God and with other people.

The belief that following Jesus can be compelling and applicable to our everyday life still guides us today. Everyone is welcome at Good Shepherd. We are a community made up of diverse backgrounds and diverse perspectives, but we have seen how following Jesus is a path toward healing and wholeness. As Jesus modeled, we strive to meet everyone right where they are, invite everyone to belong in our community of faith and experience the freedom Jesus offers.

As a church, we want to help you develop meaningful relationships with people and with God. We believe everyone belongs and has a space. So whatever you’ve been through or what you are going through right now, Good Shepherd is a community for you.

If you have deeper questions about what we believe or how you'd be welcomed at Good Shepherd,
we'd love to hear from you. If you fill this form out, a pastor will reach out to you.
